Q
What should I do if I feel there is a problem with my transmission?
AFirst and foremost, limit the amount of driving you do with the vehicle and at the first available time have the vehicle checked at New River Transmission.
Q
What do I need to do to schedule an appointment to have my vehicle checked and how long will it take?
AToday’s automatic transmissions are extremely complex and relies on several different computer systems to operate. In order to properly diagnose a problem it is necessary to leave the vehicle for 3-4 hours to allow New River Transmission to properly diagnose any possible problem.
Q
What is the cost of the diagnosis?
ACurrently, New River Transmission does not charge for diagnosis unlike many competitors in the area. It is, however, necessary to leave the vehicle for diagnosis so that it can be properly checked.
Q
Can I wait while my vehicle is being checked?
AThe simple answer is yes, but since there is no charge for diagnosis your wait time cannot be guaranteed. Your vehicle will be worked in with the other vehicles for the day, and it is for that reason that it is typically best to leave the vehicle.
Q
Why can’t New River Transmission give an exact cost to repair my vehicle without looking at it?
AAlthough for many vehicles it is possible to give a quote for transmission repair, it is not always the most prudent thing to do. Many problems with a vehicle can cause the transmission to malfunction leading the operator to feel it has a transmission problem when in fact it might be something much simpler and more cost efficient to repair. For that reason, it is best to allow the vehicle to be properly diagnosed.
Q
What warranties are offered?
ANew River Transmission offers a 3 year/36,000 mile local warranty and also a 3 year/100,000 mile nationwide warranty. Other warranties are sometimes available at the customer’s request for various reasons and can be considered based on the specific circumstances.
Q
Can the customer supply the parts to repair their vehicle?
ANew River Transmission uses OEM or better quality parts and to insure proper quality control, no customer parts will be installed.
Q
Can a vehicle be dropped off after hours?
AYes, New River Transmission has a night drop box with envelopes for your convenience.
Q
What happens if I call and someone does not answer the phone immediately?
A
I believe it is especially important to not only run my business but also be involved in all aspects of repairing your vehicle, from beginning to end. For this reason, I work side-by-side with my employees on a daily basis. If for whatever reason, your phone call is not answered immediately, please leave a message and someone will get back to you as soon as possible as messages are checked frequently throughout the day when someone is not working in the front office.
